Around a fire pit with great old platoon
Tending to the scars from my recent leg wound.
The British have stopped their bombardments on me
And it seems that I might be running low on bottled whiskey.
Coming close to midnight, there’s a silence in the air.
I’m staring deep into the eyes of mein treuses pferd.
As the numbing from the alcohol is burning my throat
I stick my head above this trench grabbing Dandy by the rope

I’ve got mud on my feet

As I head back to fire I forget how cold it was.
My hands are frozen icicles I’m gonna chop them off.
